Westfield thought leadership

During 2012 a new level of leadership development was introduced to Westfield’s Australian leadership program: Westfield Thought Leadership (WTL). The program, which represents the next step in leadership after the Westfield Foundational Leadership Program, aims to provide key executive staff at the general manager level with the techniques to lead value creation for the business.

At its highest level WTL seeks to produce organisational leaders who can foster imagination and innovation by developing a long-term vision for business growth. Through the progression of the program participants are coached through number of leadership stages that include leadership of self; leadership of others and leadership of leaders before reaching the organisational leadership level.

The WTL timeline initially focuses on a 17-week period. The preliminary phase encompasses preparation, pre-reading, and an ‘LSI’ assessment and debrief: an analysis that focuses on personal, management and leadership styles that define an individual’s effectiveness. WTL’s second phase – when the program begins in earnest – includes a 3-day intensive classroom experience; a dedicated assignment and alumni engagement. During WTL’s final phase the program connect members with the Westfield’s broader leadership group where participants can share knowledge and experience in a forum that aims to collectively contribute to the Group’s business objectives.
